Track Description
Love it or hate it, Loretta Lynn’s is the most well known track in the series and usually boasts the largest number of entries. The fact that the track is only used three times a year (Air Nautique Youth Amateur Nationals, Dirt Days, & the GNCC) ads to the nostalgia of the event. During the other 49 weeks of the year the track is used as a horse pasture and sees no motorized action. The hard packed dirt surface lends itself to breaking bumps and the tree roots on the start stretch have caught more than one racer off guard. The Loretta’s start is probably the second longest (next to Glen Helen) and fastest in the series. Upon surviving the left handed hairpin first turn you’ll enjoy a short straightaway before turning into the “Ten Commandments” section (a treacherous set of 10 deep whoops), a quick right will aim you towards the “Suzuki Double” before stringing you over a mound and in between two trees, The following rhythm section is comprised of 4-6 jumps which can be strung together in different combinations. You’ll enjoy a short break from the jumps as you weave through the S turns, but it wont last long, the following section has a series of big roller jumps that can be doubled through, followed by a healthy tabletop. A tight right hand turn aims you at the camel hump, but you’ll encounter another double before receiving another break from another set of S-turns. A ski jump will funnel you towards the high speed sweeper turn, a couple of turns and a rhythm section are the only things between you and the finish line. One more deep whoop section and a drag race around the Loretta Lynn’s billboard and you’re ready for another lap.

Eateries
Food options are bleak in Hurricane Mills, your choices come down to Arby’s or a Mexican Restaurant, your best bet is to drive into Waverly for some pizza, or Dickson, where you’ll find a Ruby Tuesday.

Misc
There’s a Wal Mart in Waverly and an occasional county fair for entertainment. Your best options for fun in the area are right at the campground. Check out the Western Town, drive by Loretta’s mansion, or take a dip in the creek or pool. The track staff also provides entertainment in the evenings via pool tournaments, karaoke, etc.

Being that the race takes place at a campground, expect to pay more for gate fees and hook ups.
