Track Description
The Red Bud start is unique in the fact that you’ve
got three turns in quick succession followed by a heart stopping downhill
ski jump. Once at the bottom you’ll turn left towards the tunnel double,
a hard right going uphill takes you into a hairpin turn aimed at a sizeable
triple. Another hairpin sets you up for the double, double section, the
second double being uphill. Once at the top you’ve got a hard left
turn followed by the S turn section. Once you’ve exited the various
turns and their slight elevation changes, you’ll head straight towards
the “Monza Wall”, a huge uphill bowl turn directly in front
of the bleachers. At the bottom of the turn you’ll hang a Left before
hitting the step down triple. You’ve just entered the backside of
the track. A high-speed stretch eventually takes you back up and down hill
as you take a Left towards Larocco’s leap (a massive uphill triple).
A quick left, a tabletop, a bowl turn, and yet another step down triple
and you’re heading towards the finish line and a chance to do it all
again. The soil at Redbud really lends itself to Braking bumps, and ruts,
plus the ground is quite rocky, you’ll want to consider wearing a
chest protector.
Driving Directions
From Chicago (&
west):
I-94 east thru Indiana. Take exit 4A in Michigan (US 12 East). Go about 18 miles
to a stoplight. Turn left on Redbud Trail. Track is about 5 miles out on left
side.
From Ohio (& southwest):
Toll road (80) to exit 72 in Indiana (South Bend West exit). Go north
on US 31 to exit 3 (in Michigan). Turn left and go to the first stoplight.
Turn right on Redbud Trail. Track is about 5 miles out on left.
From Detroit (& northwest):
I-94 west to exit 28 (Benton Harbor). Turn right off exit ramp and go
about 8 miles to a flashing yellow light. Turn right on Redbud Trail.
Track is about 7 miles on right side.
From Indy (& south):
US 31 north ALMOST to South Bend. Take the US 31 bypass north just before
getting into South Bend. Go to exit 3 in Michigan. Turn left and go
to the first stoplight. Turn right on Redbud Trail. Track is about
5 miles out on left.
